How it all began...I have always loved teddy bears and when I was collecting antique bears, a very special listing on eBay caught my eye..."Make your own antique style teddy bear"...I was intrigued! I bought the kit and waited patiently for it to arrive. Having NEVER picked up a needle and thread before, I was a little apprehensive. Poor little Tuck was my first attempt at sewing. He had an under-stuffed nose, exposed stitching, and loose little eyes...but I loved him to bits and I was hooked. Since Tuck was "born" I have spent almost every day designing and creating furry little critters, taking their photos and writing "Little Bear" stories for them. Well, actually... they write the stories themselves!

I Believe in Santa!
"Ho-ho-ho!", little bear chuckled as he patted his roly-poly belly and tipped his Santa-style top hat. I smiled at his antics and inquired, "Little bear...do you BELIEVE in Santa?" "Why of course I believe in Santa", he replied. "Santa is love & happiness, smiles & laughter, caring & giving, and Peace on Earth!", he exclaimed with a jolliness in his voice.
"Do you?", he asked as he looked at me with anticipation. I hugged little bear tight and replied softly,
"Yes little bear. I sure do!"

Ping & Pong
6th in the "Let's Play!" series
Little bears Ping and Pong were given a special gift for Christmas and they were trying to figure out what it was for. They examined the long net and the plastic ball, and they each held one of the paddle-like objects in a paw. "Could it be like golf?", Ping asked, "But we use this racquet to hit the ball into the net instead of using a club and knocking it into a hole in the ground?" He attempted to swing at the ball and missed. Pong shook his head, "No, no. What about for catching butterflies?" Pong suggested. They looked at their equipment again and then frowned and sighed together. Ping suddenly perked up, "I know! It is for fishing. We put the net into the water with the floating ball so we can find it, and..." Pong interrupted and said sarcastically, "...And these paddles are oars for the boat we don't have?" Discouraged, Ping peeked inside the box. He smiled smugly as he pulled out one more thing. "Maybe it would help if we read this instruction booklet!" He smirked as he held it up for Pong to see. They both giggled, read the book from front to back, and enjoyed the rest of the day playing their new game together.

Rufus the Reinbear
Little reinbear was frantically rubbing his nose and crossing his eyes so he could see it. "Is it red yet?", he asked. "Red?", I said perplexed. "Why do you want a red nose?" Discouraged, little reinbear sighed, "I am just an ordinary reinbear. And you must know how the song goes...'Do you recall...the most famous reinbear of all'...Rudolph! Not Rufus! I want to be special and important like him". Little reinbear began rubbing his nose again until tears formed in his eyes. "Oh little reinbear", I whispered as I picked him up and sat him on my lap. "Everyone is special and everyone is important too." Little reindbear wiped his eyes and snuggled closer. I continued, "Rudolph was able to guide Santa's sleigh but he could not pull it through the sky all by himself could he?" Little reinbear thought for a moment and replied, "No." I went on, "That's right. He needed his friends to help him, and together they delivered all of Santa's gifts to the children of the world. They were ALL important and they were ALL special. Just like you! You don't need a red nose to be these things. You just need to be kind and helpful and be the best little reinbear that you can be". Little reinbear hugged me tight and sighed, "That's a relief. 'Cause my nose is really starting to hurt!"
We both laughed and laughed until our sides hurt too.

Gingerbread Cookie
5th in the "Yummy in My Tummy!" series
Little bear had spent all day in the kitchen. He was covered from head-to-toe in batter and icing, and tiny red and green sprinkles decorated the countertop. He had made batches and batches of his favourite Christmas treat...Gingerbread Cookies! Proud of his accomplishment, little bear decided to sample one of the warm, tempting cookies. "Mmmmm! So yummy!", he said to himself as he reached for another, and another, and yet another...until there were only THREE cookies left! "Ooops", little bear exclaimed. He smiled, patted his pudgy tummy and shook the crumbs from his fur to the floor, then shrugged. "Well...my Mom always said...
'You are what you eat!'"

Little Louie
"What a Wonderful World"
1st in the "Music to My Ears" series
Little bear quietly hummed as he gently turned the crank on his most favourite possession...his music maker. He spent hours upon hours listening to the beauty of each note as it resonated from atop his wooden trinket box. He gazed at his colourful globe and daydreamt of the beautiful lands it revealed. He closed his eyes and imagined sailing the vast oceans, walking the endless deserts, climbing the majestic mountain, and hiking the wondrous forests and jungles. He envisioned eating exotic foods, experiencing fascinating cultures, and making new friends where ever he went. The song finished another verse and little bear opened his eyes and looked around him. "Yes.", little bear smiled,
"It IS a Wonderful World!"

Frosty Junior
Little bear looked into the mirror, stood on his tip-toes and sighed. Concerned, I asked him, "What is bothering you little bear? You look distraught." Little bear whined, "I want to grow up and be just like my Dad. He has such an important job you know! The children wait patiently for winter to arrive so that they can follow him all over town and sing while he goes 'Thumpity-Thump-Thump'. And he gets to wear this 'Magic Hat' too!" Little bear peered inside his Dad's top hat in awe. "Little bear," I comforted, "You must enjoy everyday and do what little bears do. Go to school, play with your friends, laugh and sing. These things are important too. You will grow up soon enough and then you will have very big shoes to fill." Little bear thought for a moment, jumped inside the hat and giggled,
"I won't have big shoes to fill. Just a really big hat!"

Whoopsie Daisy
2nd in the "One of Those Days! series
Little bear was admiring her reflection in a Spring puddle when she looked up at me and asked, "Why is my name Whoopsie Daisy?". "Well Little bear," I began to explain, "I was just having 'one of those days'" Little bear tilted her head and gazed at me inquisitively, waiting for me to continue. "I poked myself more times than I can count, lost two needles and sewed you to my pants not once, but TWICE! I traced and cut out three of your leg pieces all the same way...with no more material left to make another. Those paw pads were supposed to go the other way and I managed to sew your tush tag in upside down. Symmetry? I just couldn't get it right. One of your eyes ended up just a bit higher than the other and one ear was too low, so I gave you an irresistibly crooked smile...I loved your 'intentionally smirk'!" I smiled and little bear smiled right back at me. "Little bear...I took one look at you when you were all finished and decided that you were PERFECT just the way you are and named you Whoopsie Daisy!" Little bear beamed from tilted ear to ear, "And I love being Perfectly imperfect!" she exclaimed as she gave me the biggest hug ever!
Whoopsie DaisyWhoopsie Daisy is approximately 9.5 inches tall and 8 inches sitting, has been made with German mohair and has wool felt inner ears, paw and foot pads. She sees through German glass eyes, has a black glass nose with a daisy on it, is 5-way disc jointed and filled with premium high-loft fiberfill and stone pellets. Whoopsie Daisy is quite charming with her crooked smile, off set eyes and ears, her mismatched coloured mohair and her left arm being attached incorrectly. Even her 'tush tag' is in upside down! She has two sweet little daisy buttons on her pudgy tummy, a daisy in front if her ear and a yellow satin ribbon.
